Things finally seem to be changing for Fiat in India as the auto maker has recently delivered 455 units of Punto Evo to a diamond merchant Savjibhai. Based in Surat, Gujarat, Savjibhai has gifted 455 Punto Evos to his employees as Diwali bonus. As sources reveal, this is so far the largest single order delivered by an auto maker in domestic market. That said, this gesture showed by the diamond merchant towards his employees has grabbed eyeballs for obvious reasons. Of the total 455 units of Punto Evo, 265 diesel variants and 190 petrol variants were ordered with a choice of two colours including new pearl white and minimal grey.
Fiat launched tweaked Punto in domestic market on August 5, 2014 re-dubbed as Punto Evo. The hatchback received minor mechanical modifications and cosmetic upgrades. Earlier this year, Fiat also launched Linea sedan facelift. Yesterday, the company pulled the wraps off its new product for the Indian market, Avventura. Avventura is a hatchback based crossover conceived on Punto Evo. A couple of changes have been made to the vehicle to make it vary from Punto Evo. Mechanically both the cars are similar, however Avventura boasts of increased dimensions and ground clearance.
