More than a decade old Honda City tops the list for sedan cars in India. The sedan is a perfect example of style, reliability and comfort. The new Honda City Petrol is powered by 1.5 litre iVTEC engine that generates a modest power output of 119 PS at 6600 rpm and 145 Nm torque at 4600 rpm. Anticipated fuel efficiency for automatic and manual version is approximate 18 kmpl, but it is said that the manual version delivers slightly lower. The new diesel counterpart features a 1.5 litre –DTECH engine that powers the car with an output of 100 PS at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm of Torque at 1750 rpm. Latest one in the sedan segment, Hyundai Xcent is said to be based on Grand i10 platform. The sedan is likely to be powered by either 1.2litre kappa dual VTVT petrol or a 1.1litre U2 technology diesel engine. Sources close to the development process have revealed that the auto maker has incorporate a number of features in this sedan, such as revised front and rear bumpers, provision of LED lights and touch screen entertainment unit with Bluetooth connectivity. Also, the company may give out a fluidic design to this sedan for an appealing look.
The much anticipated Tata’s subfourmeter sedan – ‘Zest’ has finally made its public appearance and features in the list for sedan cars in India. The Zest sedan is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The highly efficient and powerful Revotron 1.2T turbocharged Intercooled MPFi petrol powertrain delivers a peak power output of 83.8bhp @ 5000rpm and 140Nm of torque @ 1750 3500rpm.
