After receiving over one lakh enquires for the Tiago from across the country, Tata Motors has sold little above 3,000 units of the small car. The Tiago, as we know, was officially launched in India on April 6 and has racked up sales of exactly 3,022 units in its first month of hitting the showrooms.
Now although these initial figures are expected to grow as the months go by, Tata certainly would have hoped for better sales performance right from the first month. Nevertheless, it doesn’t take away from the fact that the Tiago is a highly tempting product.
The Tiago is on sale with ex-showroom prices starting at Rs 3.30 lakh and Rs 3.92 lakh for petrol and diesel model respectively. And thanks to such highly competitive prices, it manages to compete with cars catering to different segments such as the Renault Kwid and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
