After introducing the futuristic all-electric e-tron range, Audi has launched the new Q5 in the country with prices starting at Rs 58.93 lakh (ex-showroom). This compact luxury SUV is available in a choice of two variants - the Premium Plus and Technology. That said, the Q5 has already received over 100 reservations and its first batch has been sold out for 2021.
This Q5 facelift comes with a newly designed single-frame grille, LED headlights, pentagonal-shaped sections in the bumper, LED taillights and 19-inch alloy wheels. Apart from the new addition, the SUV bears its mildly slanted roofline.
The new Q5 features a modern Audi cabin. To begin with, the seats wear a combination of leather and leatherette that is available in a dual-tone colour. In addition, the brand also offers a 12.3-inch digital driver displa and a 10.1-inch MMI Plus infotainment touchscreen.
In terms of features, the Audi Q5 gets eight airbags, quattro all-wheel drive, Audi drive select suspension with damping control, a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone temperature control, a wireless charging pad, 19-speaker, 755-watt, Bang and Olufsen sound system, heated side-view mirrors, 30 colours of ambient lighting, hill hold assist, cruise control and park assist with parking aid.
Coming to the powertrain, the biggest change to the updated Q5 comes as the new petrol engine. It now gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine capable of making 245bhp and 370Nm of torque. Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Q5 can go from 0 to 100kmph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 237kmph. Meanwhile, this new Audi Q5 takes on the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Lexus NX, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Volvo XC60.
