2019 Volkswagen Jetta tease before Detroit debut

The Volkswagen Jetta teaser images are officially out and we now have an inclination of what the new Jetta will look like. The teaser images show that VW hasn’t tried anything radical and stuck to its corporate straight lines look. Plenty of elegance just like the previous car. The interiors though look like a stark change and features a unique design. In particular, it appears that VW will be offering a digital instrument cluster in the new Jetta. It will likely be an available feature in higher trim models.

The new Jetta finally ditches the aging PQ35 platform which has been in use since the 5th-generation model. Underpinning the car will be the Volkswagen Group’s flexible MQB platform, which is also found in the Audi A3, a close relative of the new Jetta. Apart from the standard 1.4 petrol and the 2.0 litre diesel, expect a plug-in hybrid option to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show.
