Ford will launch the Figo facelift in India tomorrow. The B-segment hatchback will receive a mid-life update after being around for almost four years. The new Figo gets subtle cosmetic changes along with revised trims, added features and new petrol engine options from the Dragon family.

The changes to the exterior include a revised bumper design both fore and aft. There are extended chrome bezels for the fog lamps, as seen on the Aspire, along with a new mesh grille. However, Ford’s hatchback still doesn’t come with LED lights or day-time-running lights. Also part of the update
are new colour options along with dual-tone paint scheme and newly designed alloy wheels.

On the inside, the all-black cabin is revised as well. The seven-inch touchscreen system from the EcoSport and Freestyle makes its debut in the Figo, but the SYNC3 is apparently missed out. The new feature list now includes dual airbag and ABS as standard along with rear parking sensors. The top-spec Titanium BLU trims come with rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, automatic AC, leather wrapped steering wheel, bigger 15-inch alloy wheels and six airbags.

Under the hood, there is a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Dragon family. It is the same motor which does duty in the updated Aspire where it makes 95bhp and 120Nm and is expected to have same power output in the hatchback. The diesel, meanwhile, is the same old 1.5-litre unit which produces 99bhp and 215Nm. Both the engines are available with a five-speed manual transmission as standard. Apart from that, the petrol-automatic is the same powertrain from the EcoSport – 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with six-speed torque converter. The output is, however, expected to be tuned down in the hatchback. There is also a possibility of a CNG option with the new Figo, but that will come at a later date.

Prices for the Ford Figo facelift are expected to remain on par with the outgoing model. It will continue to lock horns with the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Honda Brio and ICOTY winner Maruti Suzuki Swift.
