The Escape continues to be based on the Ford Focus platform, and there aren’t many cosmetic changes. It will continue with athletic Ford styling, with the characteristic trapezoidal grille and the wraparound headlamps, mildly revised to give it a fresh look. It rides on redesigned alloy wheels. Inside, it will get a redesigned dashboard with new creature comforts. As for powertrain options, the Escape will continue to get a slew of four-cylinder petrol engines including two EcoBoost engines. It will also be offered in four-wheel-drive trims.

For the first time, Ford will also be offering the hybrid variant, called the Escape Energi. This will replace the C-MAX Energi in the US. The Escape is sold as the Kuga in European markets. It will go on sale in mid-2018 as a 2019 model.
