At first glance, the test mule appears to retain the shape of the Toyota FT-1 concept which was showcased at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show. Though highly camouflaged, the test car reveals that the Supra might come with the similar headlamps, long bonnet, short overhang, narrow and sharp taillights and flared wheel arches of the FT-1 concept. There are dual exhaust tips at rear and a GT-86 style rear lip spoiler, as the test mule was riding on alloy wheels which also seemed to be borrowed from the FT-1

The new Supra is expected to have a longitudinal straight-six petrol engine under the hood which might be derived from BMW. It is speculated that the new Supra might even come with a hybrid powertrain.
