      2018 Porsche Macan spied testing

The new Macan was introduced in 2014 but Porsche is out testing the refreshed SUV already. The car has been caught undergoing test near Porsche’s test facility in northern Europe. The update will bring the baby SUV in line with its rivals like the new Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class.

The test mule with a highly camouflaged rear shows that the new Macan will get a new and larger taillight design. Under the concealment of the rear tailgate, the Macan appears to integrate a strip of LED running across the rear as seen on the all-new 911 spy shots. The headlights seem to incorporate the four-point LED daytime running lights like the one in the new Porsche Panamera. The front air vents are revised, the indicators are repositioned, restyled rear diffuser as well as reworked front and rear bumpers.

Though no interior shots are available, it is expected that Porsche would take this opportunity to declutter the interior of the Macan. It will borrow some of the elements from the new Panamera. So expect the next-gen touch-sensitive displays and latest assistance and safety systems in the baby SUV. The Macan will continue to use the current set of engines but is expected to come with a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the near future. The refreshed Macan is expected to be launched sometime in 2018.
