Mercedes-Benz will bring in the GLA facelift next year as a 2018 model. The camouflaged test mule of this model was spied testing in Germany recently.

      Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift

This refresh for the GLA comes in the form of a mid-cycle update. The new images show the GLA's revised LED headlights, LED DRLs and LED tail lamps. We can also expect the ground clearance to be jacked up. Changes inside the cabin might be limited to new interior colour options, a new dashboard trim, slightly updated buttons and a revised COMAND infotainment system.

The refreshed GLA is expected to carry over the existing range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. These powerplants might be, however, re-tuned for power and efficiency. On the transmission front, the units could come mated to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The GLA Class is the first compact crossover from the German carmaker, which was brought into inception three years ago. Many of the cars from the Mercedes-Benz range have received updates and it’s time for the GLA to go under the knife. The carmaker should be planning to globally launch this GLA in early 2017. It is expected to hit the European markets in April next year. We should also get this iteration in mid-2017 in India as the Mercedes' Indian counterpart starts assembling it at Chakan, Pune.
