The Land Rover Discovery Sport has received an update in terms of features and the petrol trim has been dropped from the line-up. This is the 2018 iteration of the entry-level SUV that brings in new features.

Earlier, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport was sold in Pure five-seater diesel, SE five-seater diesel, HSE seven-seater diesel, HSE Luxury five-seater diesel and HSE seven-seater petrol trims. Now, this 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport is being offered only in Pure five-seater diesel (Rs 42.48 lakhs), SE seven-seater diesel (Rs 48.67 lakhs), HSE seven-seater diesel (Rs 52.31 lakhs) and HSE Luxury seven-seater diesel (Rs 57.46 lakhs) configurations (ex-showroom Delhi).

The major changes are in the cabin of the Discovery Sport. The SUV gets Wi-Fi Hotspot and Pro Services in addition to the InControl Apps feature that the vehicle is already equipped with. This Wi-Fi Hotspot uses a customer sourced SIM to provide a 4G hotspot for up to eight devices. Additionally, a number of additional services are included under ‘InControl - Pro Services’ to enhance the vehicle’s infotainment capabilities. These include Route Planner App, Commute Mode and Sharing ETA among the many other features a part of these services.

A route planner App can be downloaded through the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. This one provides navigation services and syncs routes with the vehicle’s navigation system. There's a commute mode feature too, which learns a regular route and displays diversions if there are any delays on this route. Then, there's a sharing ETA feature as well, which lets one share updates with their contacts about the estimated time of arrival via SMS.

The 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport now comes powered only by a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine, but in two states of tune. The one in the Pure, SE and HSE trims produces 150bhp of power and 382Nm of torque. The other version in the HSE Luxury grade churns out 180bhp of power and 430Nm respectively. These engine options come mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, while a four-wheel drive system is standard.
