Ahead of its European entry in September, Porsche has announced commencement of mass scale production for the new 718 Cayman. In comparison to its predecessors, the new Porsche 718 Cayman comes with fresh upgrades in the exterior as well as the interior section.
Under the hood, the new Porsche 718 Cayman comes with a new four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Offered in two variants, the 718 Cayman gets a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine to generate 296bhp of power, while the 718 Cayman S gets a 2.5-litre engine which generates 345bhp of power. The new 2.0-litre engine comes as a replacement to the old 2.7-litre, while the new 2.5-litre engine comes as a replacement to the older 3.4-litre engine. Both the new engines now generate an additional 25bhp of power.
The car featuring firmer springs, stabilisers and revamped dampers offer improved handling. While the interior comes with amenities like Connect Module with Porsche Car Connect, Apple CarPlay, USB connectivity and Navigation with voice control and real-time traffic information. The car with PDK and Sport chrono package enables it to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just about 4 seconds and is also capable of hitting a top speed of 283 kmph (177 mph).
