The new facelifted Hyundai Xcent has been spotted without camouflage ahead of its launch on April 20th. The compact sedan from Hyundai gets a mid-life update with a few cosmetic changes and a redesigned rear, along with updated engine and additional interior features.

The spied images of the new Xcent reveal a new rear and updated fascia. The moniker at the rear confirms it to be the top-of-the-line SX trim. On the inside, the cabin will likely remain the same. But just like in the Grand i10, there will be an added touchscreen infotainment system, fully automatic climate control and cup holders for the rear arm rest.

The new Xcent will carry forward the same petrol unit from the current model. The 1.2-litre four pot unit produces 81bhp and 114Nm and gets an optional four-speed automatic along with the five-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant, however, will be powered by the new 1.2-litre diesel engine debuted in the Grand i10. The engine produces 74bhp and 190Nm and comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

We believe that Hyundai will price the Xcent facelift marginally higher than the outgoing model in a bid to keep it competitive in the market. After its launch, the facelifted Xcent will continue to play rival to the likes of the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo as well as the new Tata Tigor
