Hyundai has released fresh teaser images of the Brazilian-spec Creta ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show. The SUV gets fresh design upgrades in comparison to the Indian-spec model. Owing to growing competition in the Indian market, the automaker is likely to introduce the new version as a facelift model in 2017.

Going by the teaser images, the Brazilian-spec Creta gets a large grille on the front with horizontal fog lamps and projector headlamps. As for the rear, the SUV sports redesigned tail lamps. The vehicle is likely to get a chrome strip above the number plate which will extend right to the entire length of the rear boot lid. The sides have not been revealed for now, but we do not expect to see major upgrades except for new alloys.

Under the hood, the Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta will be powered by a 1.6-litre CVVT engine which generates about 124bhp of power and 162Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The SUV will come mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. In India, the Creta has been a huge success in its segment and it is likely that the facelift model will not get mechanical upgrades and it will be limited to cosmetic upgrades. Owing to fresh upgrades, the facelift model if introduced in India, will see a further spurt in demand.
