Freshly rendered images of the 2017 Fiat Punto has surfaced ahead of its official debut next year. The car is expected to come as a replacement to the Punto and Palio in Brazil. However, it is believed that the car will be rechristened and might get a new name.
The upcoming model is based on a stretched version of the Fiat 326 platform, yet will be under 4-metres. The new Punto might be powered by a 1.4-litre petro engine which generates around 100bhp of power and a 1.8-litre E-Torq petrol engine. Both the engines will be offered in manual transmission, while the bigger engine might get an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
As for the design aspect, the new Punto sports a tweaked grille, five triple-spoke alloy wheel design and a bigger and bolder bumper design than the current generation. The rear gets new sharper tail-lamps that offer it a sportier look. Speaking about the interiors, the new Punto will get a new steering wheel, free-standing UConnect infotainment system in the dashboard and city drive mode. The interiors will get premium upholstery that gives an upmarket feel to the car.
