The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser facelift has been spied ahead of its global launch. The new Land Cruiser will receive significant exterior updates, revised engine lineup, and a few additional features.
The spied model is the V8 variant of the GXR trim that comes powered with a 5.7-litre Dual VVT-I V8 petrol engine. This powertrain is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that helps it deliver a maximum power output of 362bhp and 540Nm of torque. A 4.6-litre V8 petrol engine and a 4.5-litre V8 diesel unit will also be on offer. The latter delivers 261.49bhp at 3,400rpm and 650Nm between 1,600rpm – 2,600rpm. According to reports, the SUV will also get a new-generation 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, but only on the base variant. This engine is likely to be a part of the new ‘GD’ engine lineup that paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Land Cruiser facelift will get an all-new front fascia with new LED daytime running lights, a large chrome grille, chrome surround fog light enclosures, revised front bumper with chrome detailing, and rectangular headlights and taillights that might get LED elements. Features on offer could be new dashboard trims, a larger touchscreen display, an all-new four-spoke steering wheel and new center console with integrated control buttons.
The new Land Cruiser will be brought as CBU in India, and is expected to launch sometime in 2016.
