Country’s favorite MPV is set to be unveiled in its new avatar during the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo event in Delhi. The 2016 Toyota Innova gets a complete new makeover in comparison to its older generation model. Under the hood, the current generation 2.5-litre diesel engine has been replaced with a new 2.4-litre GD series engine. Though the new generation comes with a slightly smaller engine, it generates a powerful 147bhp as against the older power output figure of about 102bhp.
In terms of dimension, the new Innova measures 4,735mm in length, 1,795mm in height, 60mm wider, 180mm longer and about 45mm taller than the current model. However, the new model gets the same wheel base measuring 2,750mm. Inside, the 2016 model gets dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, power windows, cooled glove box and LED mood lighting. Additionally, Toyota has also offered 7.0-inch touchscreen system across all variants. Depending on variants, customers get a chance to opt for features like voice command recognition, Bluetooth telephony and SD card support, and navigation system.
In terms of design, the 2016 Toyota Innova shares some resemblance with the Camry and Corolla Altis. The MPV also gets two large chrome slats on top that flow into headlamps that are wider and taller than before. More details on the pricing aspect and feature list would be known at the time of upcoming 2016 Auto Expo event.
