Toyota will unveil the next generation 2016 Toyota Innova next year. The new Innova is likely to make its Indian debut at the 2016 Delhi Motor Show, alongside the new generation Fortuner. It has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads, and the latest test mule was shot by a YouTube user ‘Sanjay Rao’.

The next-generation Innova will use the new ladder on frame platform instead of the monocoque architecture. The spotted vehicle shows that the overall design of the car largely remains unchanged; however, the company will surely update the exteriors of the MPV. It is expected that the vehicle will get a thoroughly modified front fascia with bolder radiator grille. The new grille is complemented by newly designed headlamps. The rear end of the upcoming Innova would feature a new tailgate and new set of tail lamps.

Interestingly, the spotted vehicle looks slightly longer than the current model, indicating a roomier cabin. Inside, the 2016 Innova is expected to be more spacious than the outgoing model and offers lot more gizmos and functions. Under the hood, the new Innova will get a new diesel engine which will offer better fuel efficiency and emission levels. Moreover, the next model will also get automatic transmission mated to the diesel engine. The new-generation Toyota Innova will compete against the likes of Tata Aria, Honda Mobilio RS, Nissan Evalia and others in the segment.
