Official images of the 2016 Toyota Innova have been leaked ahead of its launch in Indonesia on November 23, 2015. Set to rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio in India, the new Innova is likely to be unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Though, the launch might take place sometime by the end of 2016 or early 2017. Ditching the current engine lineup, the new Innova will feature a 2.4-litre GD, four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler that produces 146.9bhp of power and 360Nm of torque, Paired with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic, the new powertrain is claimed to be more powerful and efficient than the existing one.
Talking about design, the vehicle receives an all-new design with features such as a dual-slat grille with chrome garnish, sweptback headlamps, bumper with wide air intakes, new fog lamps, revised tail lamps, license plate with chrome highlights, etc. The MPV is 4,735mm long, 1,830mm wide and 1,795mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The new Innova is built on an all-new platform that makes it lighter, safer and more agile than the existing model.
Features on offer will be a seven-inch entertainment system with voice commands and Bluetooth, anti-theft system, rank-and-reach adjustable steering, dual-tone interior with silver accent, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, smart entry with push button start, curtain airbags, driver knee airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) , vehicle stability control (VSC), etc.
