Toyota, the Japanese car manufacturer, will launch the new-generation Fortuner and Innova MPV next year in some international markets. Both the models are likely to be unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Show as well. Many Thailand based media publications have managed to get a blurry picture of the next-gen Fortuner, which we believe is a snapshot of a presentation. This also hints at the company's plans of unveiling the new-gen model of the SUV sometime this year.
Talking about the new-gen model, it is likely to be based on a new ladder-frame chassis that will help it get even better in terms of ruggedness and off-roading capabilities. Since it's a scalable platform, the company might use it for its other cars as well. The next-gen model will also get a more stylish and spacious cabin.
The 2016 Fortuner will get the company's new design language, which will make it look more contemporary than the current model. The company that, currently, brings the Fortuner via CKD (completely knocked down) route and then assembles it here, might continue to do so even when the new-gen model arrives.
The new generation Fortuner, reportedly, will be powered by a set of new diesel and petrol engines. Both manual and automatic transmissions with 2WD and 4WD system will be on offer.
