With emissions down to 56g/km and a fuel efficiency of 48kmpl, the Panamera E-Hybrid joins the Porsche 918 in its hybrid sports car line-up. The Porsche Panamera gets a new 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 motor that generates 321bhp of power and is combined with a 134bhp electric motor. With a combined output of 455bhp, the powertrain is mated to a dual-clutch gearbox instead of the CVTs generally found with hybrid setups. You will get driving modes like E-Hold where the car maintains its battery charge. In the E-Charge, the batteries recharge and in the Hybrid Auto mode, the car decides on its own.

Whatever the mode, it will start on battery and will need the throttle input to be more than 80 per cent if you want to extract full thrust any time while driving. Being a luxury sports car, exquisite interiors and a long feature list will be available with the Porsche Panamera E-hybrid. The car will go into production from 2017 and deliveries will start form April. About India, Porsche might bring the E-hybrid, especially after the introduction of the Volvo XC90 T8 Hybrid, but no sooner than 2018.
