Mitsubishi, the Japanese carmaker, has released two teaser images of the 2016 Outlander facelift. The vehicle is scheduled to make its global debut on April 2 at the New York Auto Show.
The updated Outlander SUV has already been spotted several times during its test rounds. It is equipped with a new front fascia with a dual-slat chrome grille that is similar to the one found on the Outlander PHEV Concept-S. The company has added additional chrome to grille, headlamps and fog lamps. Going by the teaser images, it is visible that the 2016 Outlander's exterior gets significant upgrades. It has new taillights with red graphics and chrome inserts. Also on offer is the new bumper with fog lights.
The flared wheel arches of the Outlander facelift have been fitted to electrically-angled, diamond-cut alloy wheels. The interior pictures of the SUV are yet to be revealed, but the vehicle is likely to get new dashboard trims and an advanced infotainment system.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander has also received more than 100 engineering and design improvements, and lowered NVH levels. Handling and throttle response of the car have also been improved. The vehicle will get two petrol engines - a 2.0-litre and a 2.4-litre.
Hindustan Motor Finance Corp is also planning to launch the petrol version of the Outlander SUV in the Indian car market in 2015. Whereas, the diesel model will come next year.
