A first look at the model unveiled by Mitsubishi at the New York Auto Show tells us that the new Outlander is largely inspired from the Outlander PHEV Concept-S. It is expected that Mitsubishi will provide this car with slim all-LED headlights, new rear bumper, stylish black cladding with silver trim and a well-designed LED tail lamp cluster. In terms of interiors, the 2016 Outlander is likely to get a new design that comprises new electric steering wheel, infotainment system and auto-dimming rear view mirror.

Mitsubishi, according to reports, will provide a large number of security features in the new Outlander, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning. In addition, the chassis and suspension system have been improved to ensure low levels of NVH. The new Mitsubishi Outlander is expected to come with the same mechanical configuration as the existing version, which includes 2.4-litre and 3.0-litre diesel variants. However, it is still not clear as to which version of the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander will be launched in the Indian market.
