Honda will launch the latest iteration of the Brio in India tomorrow. The updated hatchback is similar to the one launched in the Indonesian market recently.

So even if the carmaker has been tight-lipped about the changes to the car, we have enough details on what all is different from its predecessor. In terms of external appearance, the fascia sports a new grille, larger air intakes and new bumpers. The Indian model won't get a chrome strip at the back, as seen on the Indonesian spec. However, the biggest change is the updated cabin that features a new dashboard. Design-wise, this is similar to the one in the new Amaze and the BR-V. So we can expect the interior to get a new infotainment system, automatic climate control with a revised unit for the air conditioning and new rectangular vents.

Honda to launch the Brio facelift in India tomorrow

Coming to the engine options, the Brio will continue to be powered by the same 1.2 litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine from its predecessor. But, it could now produce 90bhp of power and 110Nm of torque. Then, Honda might also add an optional new CVT transmission in addition to choice of the five-speed manual gearbox.

It will be interesting to see if Honda adds a slew of safety features to the updated Brio. We are expecting ABS and airbags to be offered as an option in lower variants, if not a standard feature. Complete details including variant-wise pricing will be available tomorrow at the launch in Delhi. Stay tuned.
