The 3-Series facelift will be equipped with LED daytime running lights like the soon-to-be-launched 2015 1-Series facelift. Just so you know, the company will launch the BMW 1 Series facelift in the international markets on March 28, 2015.

The updated 3-Series gets revised kidney-shaped grille, new front and rear bumpers, new fog lamps, etc. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels. Other than the aforementioned changes, the exterior of the car remains similar to the existing model. Inside, the 2016 BMW 3 Series is expected to get new trims and an updated iDrive system.

If media reports are to be believed, the base variant of the 2016 BMW 3 Series facelift will get a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. However, the India-spec model is likely to continue with the existing engine options. The outgoing model is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 184PS of power and 380Nm of torque. The petrol version is propelled by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit that is capable of producing 245PS of power and 350Nm of torque.

BMW India is expected to launch the 3 Series facelift in the Indian car market by the end of this year or early next year. The 3 Series facelift will compete against the likes of Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Jaguar XE.
