2016 Auto Expo: Renault Duster facelift showcased

The Duster compact SUV has been a a major contributor to Renault’s sales in the country. Renault has officially unveiled the new Duster at the 2016 Auto Expo in Noida. The new Duster gets over 32 new technical features and styling features. Speaking more on the occasion at the unveiling event Mr. Sumit Sawhney, CEO and MD, Renault India operations said, “Duster is a perfect example of Renault’s core specialty of concept innovation, where we redefine an existing segment, offering something new to the customer. Success in the automotive space is led by clutter-breaking customers’ lives better. Pver the years, Duster has firmly etched Renault on India’s automotive map. With the 6-speed Easy-R Automated Manual transmission and several technical and design enhancements, we are confident that the New Duster will lead the company in its expansion plans in India, while also strengthening its position in India.”

The new Duster gets a new ‘CMO10’ engine compartment, which the company claims to offer enhanced safety, a superior driving experience with excellent acceleration, and low end torque for better drivability. The K9K 1.5-litre engine has been tuned to deliver fine balance between fuel efficiency and high performance. To make things further interesting, the company has introduced 6 speed Easy – R Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) in the new range. The 210mm of ground clearance to handle Indian roads with ease. Moreover, its 475 litres of boot space indeed be extended to about 1636 litres.

On the outside the vehicle comes with Electrically Adjustable & Foldable ORVM’s with turn indicators, Waterfall LED Tail Lamps, Hawk Eye Cluster Headlamps, Firefly Fog Lamps, 16” Gun Metal Finish Alloy wheels and Kayak Roof Rails. The company has also added a new color option to the vehicle – Cayenne Orange. Inside, the vehicle comes with New Automatic Air Conditioning, New Auto-up/down window with anti-pinch, New Media Nav, and New Centre Fascia. As for safety, it comes loaded with host of features like EBD with brake assist, Dual airbags, ABS, ESP and Hill start assist.
