The new-generation Prius has been revealed at the 2016 Auto Expo. This new Prius is the fourth-generation one and it is the first vehicle to be built on Toyota’s new generation architecture. The new-generation Prius has the same design DNA that has evolved further with time. Speaking on this, Mr Naomi Ishii, Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “India being a crucial market for us, we believe there is more to the market beyond just the numbers. We have taken good stock of our priorties for the road ahead and we do not want to make just more vehicles but also want to address other critical issues associated with energy, environment and safety with our revolutionary hybrid technology.”
Till now about eight million Toyotas have been sold. The Prius even has Hybrid Synergy Drive, which is very eco-friendly. The Prius has a 1.8-litre petrol engine with CVT transmission and it has three driving modes. Eco, Power and Normal. There is VSC+ Traction Control on it and even wireless charger has been added to the new Prius. The top variant gets LED headlamp with daytime running lamp.
