Skoda has finally revealed that it may begin the production of 2015 Skoda Fabia later this month. The production may begin post factory holidays from August 4th to 15th. Speaking more on the occasion Michael Oeljeklaus, Skoda Board Member for Production and Logistics said, “We will be using the non-production days to further optimize production and so be more able to respond to the increasing consumer demand for our models. Above all, we shall be preparing Mladá Boleslav for the launch of the next Fabia generation. We are right on schedule to start the production of our newest model on time and to the highest quality.” The 2015 Skoda Fabia is expected to be powered by a new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.4-litre 3-cylinder shall be available in Petrol as well as TDI turbo diesel engine option. The newer version shall feature more of luggage space and cabin space as compared to the existing version.

Sudhir Rao, Managing Director, Skoda Auto India, said to DNA, “Fabia initially started in a nice way with slight premium pricing. Without talking about the future products, I would like to say that it is important for us to be in that segment, but it is also important for us to do it in a right manner and ensure that we identify a sub segment in that category that is looking for a little more premium. Yes, we are looking at a Fabia replacement but will stick to Skoda's image.”

The new generation Fabia will feature Skoda’s new design language. The wide front grille is complemented by larger angular shaped headlamps, and the tail lamps at the rear have received LED lights. If media reports to believe, the company will retain the same broad styling till C-pillar; however, the vehicle will get a completely redesigned rear. Rao further added, “We don't talk about our financials but what I can say is that on an operational basis, we have improved our financials. We are building our strategy on sustainable future and we are on track. We have earned some credibility with the headquarters.”
