After acquiring the record of world’s bestselling car in 2013, Ford Focus is all set to make its debut in a new avatar at the upcoming New York Motor Show. The New York Motor Show will begin from next week, however details regarding the new Focus have already been revealed ahead of its official unveiling at the grand event.
The new version of the sedan will come affixed with the same front grille as seen in tweaked Focus hatchback and wagon that were uncovered at the Geneva Motor Show. However, the US bound SE Sport version will come with a blacked out nose instead of chrome nose. Rear will get a black boot-lip rear spoiler, restyled tail lamps among the new additions in the exterior, new 17 inch alloy wheels with black highlights are included. Ford will pack the new Focus with a 1.5 litre, four pot,EcoBoostgasoline engine pumping out two varied power outputs of 110 KW and 132 KW. Besides this, a newpowertain, a 1.5 litre four pot, diesel motor will also be proffered that delivers two states of power-70 KW and 88KW.
The new diesel motor will be made specifically for the European markets. Both the engines will be harmonized to a six-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic transmission. A dual-clutch will also be out on offer on the new Focus sedan. Ford’s much acclaimed 1.0 litre, three cylinder,EcoBoostpetrol engine will also be proffered. The 1.0 litre petrol engine is capable of generating varied power outputs of 74 KW and 92 KW along with 170Nmtorque. With 1,097,618 units of sedan sold in 2013, Ford outnumbered its rivals like Corolla and VolkswagenJettathat claimed number 2 and number three spots respectively. In 2012 too, the sedan was declared the bestselling car in the world.
