Ford's Figo has been a hot selling hatchback along with the likes of Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Chevrolet Beat. The Figo from Ford scored slightly better that the rest in terms of features, efficiency and pricing. This time around, in an attempt to upgrade its goodwill in the market, the company plans on launching the new Figo sometime soon. Recently, sources have managed to click pictures of the upcoming trim on Pune's streets in Maharashtra, India.
At the recently held Sao Paulo Motor Show 2014, Ford had showcased the new Figo hatchback that was based out of the Fiesta sedan platform. The one seen in spy shots seems to be a lot similar to the one showcased at the event. Reports suggest that the upcoming 2015 Ford Figo may be powered by 1.2 Liter engine for the petrol trim, whereas the diesel trim is likely to be powered by 1.5-litre DV5 turbo engine. Reports have also suggested that the new trim may get 1.0 Petrol Ecoboost with no turbo engine that shall be capable of producing about 80 Bhp of power.
Pricing aspect has not been revealed yet by the company, but based on anticipation, you may expect the new hatchback to be offered around Rs. 5 Lakhs bracket. The new Figo hatchback is likely to be produced at Ford's Sanand plant in Gujarat sometime early next year and may go on sale in second quarter of 2015.
