2014 Hyundai Verna could soon make its way to India

According to reports, Hyundai has plans to introduce a new version of Verna in the Indian automobile market. However, as of now, there are no final words on the expected launch date of this new 2014 Verna in the country. Notably, this new facelift version will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show this week. Like aforesaid, the Indian launch of this new facelift in 2013 is highly improbable, however, as it seems, the auto company is likely to showcase it at Auto Expo in February 2014. Interestingly, Hyundai Verna is sold as Accent in United States of America. It was initially launched in April 2011 and soon became one of the most successful products available in US market. Pretty much same proceedings hold true with respect to the Indian version of Verna.

As per reports, the new updated version is likely to be launched with same petrol and diesel engines. Currently, variants of Verna comes in two engine options, 1.4-litre and 1.6 litre. The 1.4-litre petrol powertrain can generate a maximum power of up to 105 bhp while 1.6-litre petrol mill offers an output of up to 121 bhp. Engine vibrations are kept to minimum even at high speeds. The petrol version is able to attain a high speed of up to 195 kmph. Diesel variants of Verna also offers superior on-road performance. The 1.4-litre diesel mill offers a power output of up to 88 bhp along with an impressive torque of 216 Nm. On the other hand, 1.6-litre mill can generate a maximum power of up to 126 bhp and torque of up to 260 Nm. Having already said that petrol and diesel trims are likely to retain configuration, it would be worth mentioning that the new Verna may come with tweaked injection system to reduce emission and marginally enhance the fuel efficiency.

The updated version of Verna is likely to offer more comfort to drivers and passengers. More leg, head and shoulder room will ensure increased comfort levels while driving. To enhance its appeal, one can also expect to see day time running LEDs for the facelift Verna. With a pepped-up appeal, it is imperative to say that the auto company would be revising the retail price of this facelift too. Also, the launch of an updated version of Verna is likely to intensify competition in the sedan segment. It is likely to compete with Honda City, once sales commence.
