It must be noted that the new Octavia has been already put to sale in several European markets, and will now route towards the Indian auto market. Also, the sales of upcoming Octavia are anticipated to start from early September 2013. With its new model, the auto maker has pinned high hopes and feels that the latest Octavia would be counted among the most appreciated cars of the Indian auto market.

New 2013 Skoda Octavia has been designed on the MQB platform, the same platform which has underpinned a number of performance oriented models of Volkswagen Group. Speaking of the technical specifications of new Octavia, the model is anticipated to come equipped with an option of either 1.8-litre petrol or 2.0-litre diesel engine. Reportedly, both of these engines are performing well in the Skoda Laura. In order to offer the new Octavia with an aggressive price tag, Skoda India might also introduce an entry level 1.6-litre diesel engine, which will surely lure the masses.

Sources further said that although the new Skoda Octavia will be costlier than the current generation Laura, it will come as a more value for money proposition than the latter. The key USP of the 2013 Octavia will be its large size, advanced technology and cutting edge features. It must be noted that the Indian auto aficionados are eagerly waiting to get behind the wheel of new Skoda Octavia. Also, it will be quite interesting to see the impact of Skoda's new model in India as the respective segment is currently ruled by Chevrolet Cruze.
