The Indian arm of BMW, a world renowned and ultra-modish German automobile marque, seems to be leaving no stones unturned towards retaining its market leadership in the Indian premium passenger car segments. The stylish sports and luxury car maker has devised an overtly aggressive strategy against the likes of its fellow German fellow auto firms, such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Within days of launch of the premium luxury four door saloon - 6 Series Gran Coupe, BMW India is set to introduce the much awaited facelift of its flagship X6 crossover on November 22, 2012 in the country.

The upcoming 2013 BMW X6 crossover is anticipated to come assimilated with a giant of a 4.4 litre, 4395 cc, Twin Turbo V8 diesel powertrain under its hood. The action packed engine promises to churn out a meaty power and torque equation around 530 bhp and 680 Nm, respectively. Further, the drivetrain is mated to a state-of-the-art eight speed automatic transmission system that entails the 2013 BMW X6 to tread any demanding and uncertain terrain without breaking into sweat. The company's soon-to-be launched X6 crossover will be pitched against the likes of Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz ML Class, Porsche Cayenne and Land Rover's Range Rover Evoque in the Indian auto market, upon its arrival.

At present, the German auto maker enjoys top position in the Indian premium and imported luxury sports car market and faces some stiff competition from Mercedes-Benz and Audi, who are at second and third places, respectively. The recent aggressive attitude emerging from stables of Mercedes-Benz, seems to have fuelled BMW India's new strategy on domestic front. BMW has already revealed intentions to introduce its most basic of all cars, the 1 Series in Indian auto market somewhere in first half of 2013. Accordingly, the high heeled domestic car aficionados must be eagerly waiting for 2013 BMW X6's launch in the country. Further, the much fawned upon crossover is expected to fetch a colossal price tag as well.
