Honda has announced that it has sold over 2.5 lakh fourth-generation City sedans in India. Launched in 2014, the City has been a game changer for the company and also the highest-selling City model yet.
The City used to rule the C-segment a few years ago. However, with the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the City saw major decline in sales. Earlier this year, the City got a facelift to which the market responded pretty well.
Honda also reported that 61 per cent of the City sedans sold in India are petrol, whereas the diesel version contributes to 39 per cent of its overall sales. In terms of transmission options, 70 per cent of the City buyers opted for manual gearbox, whereas 30 per cent went for CVT.
