MG Astor Facelift

Model launch date: 

We expect the new MG Astor to be launched in India in the first half of CY 2025. 

Feature list: 

The facelifted Astor for India will continue with features like a dual-digital display, connected car technology, 360-degree camera, HUD, and powered driver’s seat. MG is also expected to add a power tailgate and ambient lighting. On the safety front, all versions will get six airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounting points. 

Engine, performance, and specifications: 

The Astor is now a hybrid thanks to a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine assisted by an electric motor. The combined power output stands at 192bhp. However, the Indian market is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre NA petrol and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol. Both engines can be had with AT and MT options.  

Variants: 

We expect the new Astor to be offered in the Sprint, Shine, Sharp, Smart, and Sharp Pro variants. 

Safety: 

The updated Astor has not been tested for a GNCAP or BNCAP safety rating. 

Competition: 

The new Astor will compete with the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Skoda Kushaq.
