The MG 4 EV was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and is expected to be introduced in India in 2024.

Variants

Globally, the MG 4 is offered in Comfort and Luxury variants. The details about the variants that will make it to the Indian market are not known yet.

Feature list

On the exterior, MG 4 EV boasts quirky styling elements like angular headlamps with integrated DRLs and vertically-stacked fog lamps on the stylish bumpers. Towards the side, the hatchback is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels while the highlight of the rear is the two-piece wing spoiler and LED tail lamps that extend across the width of the tailgate. In terms of dimension, the MG 4 measures 4,287mm in length, 1,836 in width, and 1,504mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,705mm. 
The interior highlights of the MG4 are a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The MG4 EV is also equipped with ADAS features such as front collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assistance, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and a blind sport monitor. 

Engine, performance and specifications

Internationally, this MG electric crossover is available in two battery pack options – 51kWh and 64kWh with a claimed electric range of 350km and 450km, respectively. While the former is linked to electric motors to produce 167bhp, the latter puts out 201bhp.

Safety

The MG 4 has scored a full five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Competition

MG4 EV has no direct rivals in the Indian market at the moment.
