      Whats Good

Fit & finish are GREAT. An absolute head turner, in its looks. Love its ride & handling. Its 6speed auto box takes the stress out of driving very well, especially in the urban jungle!! Good mileage 14-15kmpl. I've already logged 28,000km, & gone through 3 free services. The consumables came to Rs4800 only. No rattles inspite of rain ravaged roads, in the past 3 months (i.e. nearly 15,000km).Airconditioned seats were an absolute boon in the initial months of searing heat.

      What Can Improve

Very poor blue tooth performance. Doors need great effort to open, not rectified inspite of 3 services. This is especially disliked by the women folk in the family. The 2 A/C vents in the centre, do not have switches to close them. Stop start button, not ergonomically placed, like in the Passat!

Before relaunching the Elantra 2011 Hyundai India should look at how to fix the braking problem in the existing Elantra models. Their service partners in Bangalore (both Advaith and Trident) are absolutely clueless on how to fix the soft braking pedal issue which does not stop the car until you remove your leg off the pedal and repump the brake. Even after changing all items like Brake Master Cylinder and ABS Pump etc they have given up. It is a shame that even the factory engineers could not help to fix it. HMIL should lower its head in shame.

Elantra is a very good car! I own a 2006 Crdi... Here are the maintenance tips which worked for me... > Always do the maintenance in the Hyundai service centre... > Dont ever miss the scheduled maintenance services... > Depending on the usage, brake pads seems to be worn out soon...so whenever u change the brake pads note down the mileage (bcoz i ended up changing the same brake pads twice) > Wheel alignment is another important factor when it comes to elantra... > Tyres... elantra is not suitable for low profile tyres especially with Bridgestone.. should you change your tyres opt for Michelin -- excellent performance > If you are a person who loves to drive faster then you need to be little careful...elantra's braking is good if you are driving at 140 - 150...above 160 braking will be a bit of a problem... > when u first start your car leave it idle for few minutes...after sometime switch on your ac/music system etc...this will improve your batteries > For some reason elantra does not have a healthy inside cabin (my opinion) ensure during long drives you allow fresh air to flow in...

I own a Elantra crdi..it is a Rocket..just go for it...my experience with Elantra is Fabulus. Verna is a good car but it lacks confidence in handling, but Elantra is a Driver's car.

Elantra is a superb car compared to other Hyubdai car's, but some how it did'nt do well in indian market as it did in the European. Milage would depend upon the car version, Petrol or diesel. If diesel, definetly go with it, as Hyundai was the first to launch the CRDi technology in India, and there CRDe engines are the only successful.

Overall it's a good car, low maintenance but if required the spares are quite expensive and as the car has low resale value you might get it this beautiful piece of machinery at a very reasonable price.

I'm owning an ELANTRA GLS since Sep 2004 & it is an excellent car !! NIL BreakDowns in 5 Years. Resale is low possibly because of an Average of 7-10 Kms / Litre of Petrol in City but on highway it gives 13-14 Kms. One can get a CNG Fitting Done if one is very concious re : Fuel Consumption. Although even a Corolla gives between 8-10 Kms in the City !! Re : Spares / Maintenance Costs I'm incurrring approx Annual Costs of Rs14000/ or 1000-1200 Rs / Month which by no means is expensive. In case interested I might be selling my car may be this month end / next month. Vishal(vishal1969.3.9@gmail.com)
