      Opening

We used the Hyundai Creta SX Automatic Petrol for three months as a part of our long-term fleet. This last report will highlight the things we loved and the things we hated about the car while we used it to see what it’s like to own the Hyundai Creta petrol automatic. Check these out.

      Hyundai Creta SX Automatic Petrol

      Pros

      - AT gearbox

The Creta's six-speed automatic gearbox provides a good urban drivability, while its performance on the highway is commendable too. It is a very smooth gearbox and gear changes take place without any jerks. There are no worries of pressing the clutch again and again in traffic.

      - Engine and ride

The Creta's 1.6-litre petrol mill is sufficiently powerful and doesn't consume petrol a lot for you to worry. The ride quality is almost plush as it doesn't get very bouncy and bumpy. The suspension is damped nicely to offer a comfortable ride. So, the Creta takes broken roads in its stride with ease. Also, the handling is competent by SUV standards in the city and out on the highway as well.

      - 7-inch touch screen sat-nav infotainment system

To care of your infotainment needs, Hyundai has provided the Creta with a 7-inch touch screen music system. The unit is easy to use and pairs up with your phone's Bluetooth effortlessly. The reversing camera paired to this display does a terrific job of assisting while parking this SUV even in difficult places.

      - Interior space and storage areas

The quality of the components and materials used in the Creta's interior and even the sense of space is good. Passengers will be comfortable in the cabin and get many convenient storage places. The large boot will suffice all your luggage needs, whether it's a big or a small bag.

      Cons

      - Navigation and video playback

The Creta's touch screen system supports video playback as well. But as a safety measure you cannot use it on the run and only use it when the car is parked. Furthermore, the navigation system isn't as friendly and precise as Google Maps. As a result, we used our phone more than the car's sat-nav.

      - Instrument console

Almost all cars get an instrument cluster that shows the odometer and trip meter. We would have loved it if the Creta’s digital console would have shown details of distance-to-empty and average fuel efficiency as well.

      - High price

A premium pricing is justified for a feature-rich and premium SUV. However, the Creta has several missing features (no leather seats, cruise control etc.), which will disappoint many prospective buyers at this price point.

      Hyundai Creta SX Automatic Petrol

Nonetheless, the Hyundai Creta has already become a favourite amongst Indian buyers. The number of units of Creta plying on the road reciprocate this very well. Bad news for us is that we will be sending back the Creta to Hyundai now that its tenure is over. However, good news for prospective buyers is that Hyundai has ironed out the shortcomings already and launched the 2017 Hyundai Creta for the Indian market.
