Fiat suffers from bad servicing issues

Fiat understands that they produce good cars.However due to bad after sales service customers are staying away from the brand. Recently I went for servicing for Fiat Palio in Chennai.First 2 Tata service centers refused and the 3rd service center gave an appointment 4 days later and said he is reluctant to accept due to non availability of Fiat spare parts.I think the company is spoiling its brand value. From the above article I came to know that the company is planning to give its India operations a new breath of life by opening new single brand sales outlets in the country in next few years. I think this laid back attitude of Fiat is due to wrong people in the top management.Fiat is known for making good cars but with bad management and laid back attitude they will soon pull the shutters down.They need a dynamic team to lead the company and implement decisions faster. If they fail doing so soon Fiat will be History.

Here again after a long run for almost 6 years in the Market. The Punto comes with a little Grande added. So whats new? Added Ground Clearance Better NVH Levels Proven Engine Better After sales service than before by setting up it own outlets at multiple locations. Still a looker among the Hatches in India and I would say one of the best looking hatch till date. Improved Fit & Finish. The tear eye shaped tail lamps flows with the design and looks classic & elegant. The split grill in the front gives it a handsome smile resembling its distant cousin Maserati. The Loud thud spells â€œSAFEâ€ the moment you close the door and assures you of great build quality. The moment you get in, you are greeted by a sober gray & black combination of devices that for sure does not lighten you up. In addition to it is a simple yet sophisticated set of clocks that shows almost every bit of information that you would look forward to knowing (Mileage, Trip details, Multimedia information, Temperature, Time, Door open indicator, Instant Mileage etc and what not ) The Ride & handling is in a word â€œAmazingâ€ and in a more linear way! The car feels completely in your control and you can count on it for high speed stability. ABS & Airbags are additionally comforting!
What Can Improve
Low Turing Radius Interior Finish and plastics feel cheap. Lack of Outright Performance (If you compare it to a Swift or an i20) In car entertainment is quite disappointing. (Limited option to replace Multimedia as dashboard alteration is required for a double din to be installed) Yet to prove in itâ€™s newly accomplished service outlets The tyres feel a tad thin with a lot of gaps between the body and the wheels.
At this juncture, I guess it is high time for Fiat to start thinking more in terms of an end user and improve the tits & bits as well. Or maybe it is time to modify the car itself and surprise the market. We do have news on the Abarth to be dished out to India this year. So do we make a move yet? After careful consideration, I'd rather wait!

Grande Punto 90 HP

Whats Good
Punto has the best handling and the most accurate Steering, which allows for very high speed stability and control. Also the 90 HP and 209 NM of torque is very useful for highway cruising. Its a very sturdy car and provides a higher level of confidence while driving.
What Can Improve
The gear ration should improve,especially the 1st and 2nd gears. Also the plastic quality should be improved and the gaps between panels should decrease.

What Can Improve
Bit more rear space
its better in aspects of looks,driving comfort ,power and priced aggressively compared to Swift,Ritz,Vista,Chevy Sail hatchback,I20 etc .Swift,Ritz,Vista run on the same acclaimedFiat Multijet diesel engine.Only a test drive will be able to help a prospective buyer to choose amongst the above mentioned models in this segment.

Bit more legroom in rear
best among the class of hatchbacks better than swift,Vista,Chey Sail,Ritz to name a few and priced aggressively and of course great value for money ,spares among the cheapest in price

Road manners is excellent. Turning corners at high speed is a piece of cake. Steering is precise and instills confidence even at break neck speeds. Suspension is terrific, it puts Indian roads to shame. Mileage is consistent. The free revving high performance engine asks for more whipping.
What Can Improve
Pick up in city traffic.
It is a maintanance free car. Heads turn on every where for a second look and you are noticed. There is no match for its look and poise.
