Mahindra has a strong legacy in making SUVs in India. Their most ambitious Scorpio project bagged immense success. Last year, the Indian SUV maker launched the third-generation Scorpio with a new chassis and a great level of updates on outside and inside. New Gen Mahindra Scorpio was launched at Rs. 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Battling the Scorpio is Tata’s true SUV, the Safari Storme which is due for an upgrade soon. This beasty looking vehicle boasts of inputs from their international counterparts at Jaguar Land Rover. The Safari Storme is available at a starting price of Rs. 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai)

Exterior and Interior Design: Mahindra Scorpio Vs Tata Safari Storme

The new Generation Scorpio retains its overall design with new additions. The front face looks very aggressive with sharp dual lens projector headlamps paired with LED DRLs. Sabre tooth styled radiator grille with chrome attention make it look impressive. The headlights also feature cornering lamps, which get activated at turns.

Redesigned front overhang paired with the new hood line and other details makes the front half look completely new whereas the rest of the side profile is too reminiscent of the earlier model. The B and C-Pillars have been blackened to give it a more uniform look. Mahindra offers new 17 inch alloys which look fairly decent.

The Tata Safari Storme is more of an elegant looking SUV compared to the wild streaks of the Scorpio. The headlamp design looks compact with the detailing done. The Storme gets a new face with the chrome lining on the bonnet line. The ones that stand out are the new design alloy wheels which are not exactly very sporty unlike the ones that come on DICOR. Outside rear view mirrors are now covered in chrome with indicators affixed on them. These mirrors can be electrically adjusted from inside the cabin.

The interiors of New Scorpio look well groomed and also feel more spacious than before. The seats offer great cushioned support which offer fatigue free commute on long journeys. The interiors truly feel very impressive. While, the Safari Storme too offers great deal of space, the only area where it fails to keep up is the availability of modern features.
