Triumph Motorcycles, the popular British manufacturer is looking forward to expand its line-up of products. The reports have hinted on the fact that Triumph Motorcycles India are planning to introduce a new bike in India. It might be the Thunderbird LT and the launch date might be on September 18, 2014.

There might some speculation about the fact that the Triumph Motorcycles India already sells Thunderbird. However, Thunderbird LT is slightly different from the original model. Initially LT stands for Light Touring and the bike Thunderbird LT stands for the several touring accessories that the international bike comes up with. It comes with a detachable saddle bags made from leather, which has a total storage space of 21 litres. Auxiliary spot lamps, which come extremely useful when travelling on dark roads in the night, are also installed on the LT model. There is also a windscreen, which is exclusively made for touring purposes. There is a backrest for pillion riders so they do not feel tired during long journeys.

The United States model of the Thunderbird has a stiff suspension, however, that might not be the case in the Indian model, since the condition of the roads does not permit so. The bike will also be sporting attractive colours allowing it to be easily spotted amongst the crowd.

The Triumph Thunderbird will be powered by a 1699 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. It is capable of producing a power of 94 bhp with an approximate torque of 146 Nm. The mill transmits the power to the wheels through the six-speed transmission. Currently, it is priced at 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, with the addition of accessories, it is expected that the prices will shoot up for the Thunderbird LT.
