Suzuki Gixxer not initially counted as a name that would pull motorcyclists when it was unveiled. The two-wheeler brand was keeping it under wraps quite well. The bike was launched in February where it was brought into the limelight. Since then, this one model has been the eye candy for bike enthusiasts and all have been waiting for its inauguration. It is believed that this bike will soon be available in the market as booking for it has initiated and the dealers are ready to take in requests. There are huge expectations from this motorcycle as the 150 cc segment in India is quite empty with not many models being introduced by the manufactures. This has also contributed to the widespread anticipation, which has developed surrounding the Suzuki GIxxer.

This bike was initially showcased for public viewing during the Auto Expo 2014 until which, the company had maintained a low-profile. However, the excitement among two-wheeler buffs started increasing after the Auto Expo. Recently, the dealers have opened pre-orders for this model and are expected to start handing over the models some tie soon. It is not that Suzuki is launching a 150 cc bike for the first time. For that matter, it already has GS150R in its kitty and is quite popular among the masses. However, the Gixxer will be slightly more affordable for the people. Gixxer is supposed to provide stiff competition to the likes of Yamaha FZ, Hero CBZ Xtreme and Honda CB Trigger.

Coming to the technical specifications, the Gixxer will be powered by a 155 cc, mono-cylinder, SOHC air-cooled engine. It will generate power output to a maximum of 13.7 bhp with 14 Nm of torque. The combination with a five-speed gearbox has made this model a notch better than its competitors. This stylish model will feature a mono-shock suspension at the rear and a telescopic one for the front. The bike is well-equipped for smoother halting with disc brakes for the front wheel and drum for the rear. It will have a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres, as depicted by the model in Auto Expo 2014. Gixxer will be available for the general public in the coming weeks in five chic colours. The brand has not cleared air about the pricing, however, it is expected that the price of this bike will remain within the reach of the general masses.
