Suzuki, the Japanese auto manufacturer, has temporarily suspended the production and sales of its small hatchback- the Celerio in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. This decision was made after Autocar UK and WhatCar found that the cars allotted to them for testing purpose suffered total brake failure. Soon after the UK based magazine informed about the brake failure to manufacturer, Suzuki carried out an investigation to find out loop holes.

Soon after the incident, Suzuki has recalled its UK Celerio models launched on February 1st. According to Suzuki, This safety recall relates to retraction of the brake pedal and affects Right Hand Drive vehicles for UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It does not affect left hand drive vehicles or other right hand drive markets."
