In the Indian Market, there lies a trend of small cars, as it fits in the budget of all the people. From the very earliest, Indian car market has been ruled by the small cars such as Maruti Suzuki Alto, Maruti WagonR and many more. These cars were basically targeted towards the middle income group. As India is much obsessed with the mileage factor, companies laid much stress upon maintaining the mileage quotient in their cars. The second largest company Hyundai came up with its wide range of small cars and these cars have done tremendous business in the market.

This car was being designed as per the economical value and it also aimed to provide a touch of style in it. This car is not only concerned about the looks but also about the safety measures that are being taken care of. On the name of safety, it is having anti-braking system and motor driven power steering. With all these vivid features of the new i20, Hyundai has been able to continue its operations in the Indian market. In concern of the new Indian cars, TATA has also come up with its brand new Aria which has been termed as India's first four-wheel drive crossover.

The all new TATA Aria matches with the poise of a sedan and a SUV. This new segment has given rise to a whole new breed in the Indian car market. It consists of a 16 valve-twin overhead camshaft 2.2 DICOR engine with 32 bit ECU and variable turbine technology. The new TATA Aria comes in two drive trains such as 4X4 and 4X8, which comprises of eight variants. The former one comes with a model name 'Pleasure', which is the base model, following to it is 'Prestige', which is the mid-range model and the last one 'Pride', which is the top model.

On the other side, in the Aria 4X8 'Prestige' is at the top followed by Aria Pleasure and Aria Pure. All these variants comes in different appealing colours such as grey, arctic, silver, quartz black and pearl white. The reverse guiding camera, airbags for drivers and passengers adds to its advantage but there is a slight disappointment in the design as it is not having the facility of a sunroof. All in whole, this new segment of TATA motors has been a good buy for the customers.

In this way, there are many brands which are involved in the distribution of small cars in the Indian market. The flourishing Indian car market, which was first dominated by only few companies, has now been a platform for the other companies to try their luck.
