Royal Enfield reports 43 per cent growth in January 2015

Royal Enfield reported a good start with the New Year as the company registered 43 per cent overall growth in the month of January. As per the reports, the auto maker sold approx. 29000 motorcycles in January 2015 compared to 20000 it sold in the same month last year.

With the successful ending of the year 2014, the company has got kick started at the beginning of the 2015 as well. Also, the exports by the company, too, rose by more than 82 per cent. Last year was very crucial for the Royal Enfield as it registered its maximum sales in 2014. And to strengthen and increase the bond between its customers, the company has extended the warranty of its bike from 10000 kms/1 years to 20000 kms/2 years giving the proof and quality of the products used.

The latest reports have stated that the company is likely to increase the production capacity of its bikes so as to close the waiting period on all of its motorcycles. Royal Enfield has recently acquired a 50 acre plot in Vallam Vadaal, near Chennai as it is planning to open the third production plant in the country because the existing plant is not able to fulfill the demands of Indian buyers. The new plant is a few kilometers away from the Oragadam facility. The company is said to be developing a 400-cc engine that will power its future motorcycles.

Company also said that the sales of its vehicle with 350-cc engine increased by 46 per cent and sales of its vehicle above 350-cc category have increased by 21 per cent. Recently, Royal Enfield also raced past the sales of Harley-Davidson, globally. The company sold over 3 lakhs motorcycles last year, whereas Harley Davidson sold approx. 2.67 lakhs units. With this, Royal Enfield’s worldwide number rose up to 70 per cent, while Harley could only manage 3 per cent.
