Rolls Royce showcases new collection at the Auto Shanghai 2011

Rolls Royce made their presence felt at this year’s Auto-Shanghai expo, regarded as the biggest auto show in China. The Rolls Royce presented an exclusive collection named ‘Year of the Dragon’. Thus by presenting this special edition Rolls Royce has emphasised its presence in the Chinese automobile market. China has witnessed the most number of buyers under the segment of Centenary Collection cars.

Going with its figures and the growth in China, the company decided to bring in the collection that will be the epitome of Chinese tradition and culture. As the name suggests, the design features the dragon, a legendary creature very popular in the country. The sophisticated design includes, Dragon Headrest that is hand embroidered and taken from the idea of Forbidden City- twin painted coach line reflects true China. In addition, cushions with R-R logo and the title ‘Year of the Dragon 2012 glowing with LED light has been installed with perfection.

For this collection, Rolls Royce has given special attention to the intricate designing in order to impress its Chinese buyers. Moreover, the collection will be available in two options of either modern or traditional detailing and both segments will highlight the Chinese theme. On the launch of this special memorial collection, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said, “At Rolls-Royce Motor Cars we delight in bringing new, exclusive designs to our customers. The Bespoke team elegantly captures the imagination with this Year of the Dragon Collection, celebrating the turning of a New Year of prosperity and good fortune with this unique creative offering.”

At then end of the show, Sales Manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Thomas G. Jefferson, added “This limited edition car embodies the synergy of craftsmanship, creativity and culture in a manner that is uniquely Rolls-Royce.”

At present there are 8 Rolls Royce showrooms in China and the company with its presentation of special collection hopes to extend it to 11. If it is executed, Rolls Royce will have the largest market of its brand in China after United States.
