When Renault launched its duster back in 2012, they knew they had made a gem. Though, the others didn’t. The success story of the Renault Duster resonated with all the car manufacturers, many of whom tried to do the same, achieve the same, but somehow fell short. The Duster was always a beloved car, but now, Renault has come with a new variant, the Renault Duster AWD (All Wheel Drive).

Renault has confirmed that the Duster AWD will be hitting the showrooms in the coming few months, but the excitement has already begun. The new Renault Duster AWD has the same looks of its predecessor. With large arches over the wheel, the same chrome grille and the bulky headlights give the Renault a robust and a sturdy look. The 4x4 gets a slew of new features like blackened out headlights; decals and gun metal finished alloy wheels.

The AWD mechanism, unlike the traditional setup, has an electronically controlled system which could be switched on and off with the help of a button. When using it for daily travel, you can turn the knob for a permanent 2WD travel, like in Renault Duster, or switch to a Lock mode, where the torque will be dispersed equally amongst the 4 wheels. This method can be used till the speed of 60kph, and from then on, it turns to the auto mode. The company trusts it’s electronically controlled AWD and suggests we do the same, when in the wild.

Sharp climbs, sudden turns, water puddles, the Duster 4WD is up for the challenge, and the Auto mode makes it easier. The better part here is that all the four corners have an independent suspension making the AWD more efficient. We can’t wait to get our hands all over this car!
