Renault Duster 4x4 launching soon; details emerge

Renault India is all set to launch the four-wheel drive version of the Duster compact SUV in the country in September. The media drives for the new variant will commence from the second week of August, indicating a near launch. The Duster 4x4 variant will be positioned as the top-of-the line variant in its lineup. It will be based on the 110PS RxZ variant which is priced at 11.39 lakh. The 4x4 variant is likely to cost around 1 lakh more than the top-spec 2WD Duster RxZ.

The growing competition has affected the sales of Renault's top selling car in India. The 4x4 variant of the compact SUV will offer more option to Duster prospective buyers. Moreover, the company is also aiming to capitalize on the festive mood of Indian buyers. Under the hood, the Renault Duster 4x4 will get the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 108.5bhp and a peak torque of 248Nm. Power is transmitted to all four-wheel of the SUV via a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The 4x4 model will be based on the Renault Duster RxZ diesel and is expected to be loaded with several high end features. The new 4x4 model will be equipped with features including touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted control, rear air conditioning vents, steering mounted controls, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution and many more.
