The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class comes with several distinctive updates in its front headlight cluster and 'Ponton' haunches. The ultra-modish headlamps have been encased in a single flowing lens set up that is replete with low beam LED treatment and daytime running lights. The front fascia has gotten more aggressive and bold with reworked grille, bonnet and bumper. The 'Three Pointed Star' emblem is bigger and looks more classy in the facelift car as compared to the outgoing model. The rear design complements the front end and is visibly more dynamic and sporty. The luxury sedan gets redesigned rear bumper and tail lamp cluster, which underlines the 2014 E-Class' new-age character.

The updated Mercedes-Benz E-Class' interior setting is both subtle and futuristic at the same time. The luxury saloon would cater to the deep pocketed Indian buyers who prefer a vehicle with premium looks, plush interiors and styling. The 2014 E-Class facelift comes trimmed with several world class comfort and convenience attributes that conform to a product from the house of the German luxury car maker. The stylish E-Class scores many points for its new sporty steering wheel, air-conditioner vents and redesigned instrument cluster. The car has new dials, a Satellite Navigation system, state-of-the-art infotainment system and the updated COMAND system. There is also a parking assist system, which makes parking the vehicle sheer pleasure as the sensors and cameras do most of the work.

Under its hood, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is expected to come in two power-mill options- a 2.0 litre petrol and a 2.1 litre diesel. The 2.0 litre motor is a 4-cylinder direct injection engine that churns out a top power output of 184 bhp, whereas the 2.1 litre 4-cylinder oil burner pumps out 204 bhp as maximum power. Both these engines will come mated to the cutting 7G-tronice automatic gearbox developed by Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz India would be pitching its 2014 E-Class range against luxury saloons BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 luxury in the domestic luxury car market. Currently, the Merc E-Class is available within a price bracket around Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 75 lakh in the Indian auto market. Industry experts believe that the new E-Class facelift could be launched with a slight increase in pricing over the existing range.
