Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India's largest passenger car maker, is preparing to show something interesting at the upcoming Auto Expo. Although the auto maker has not revealed any details regarding the same, it is sure that the new development will create a stir in the Indian auto market. Confirming this statement, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki told to ET, “You should expect something interesting in the Auto Expo.”

Industry experts are of a view that Maruti Suzuki will be introducing an array of new models in different segments. Some highlights of the same would be XA Alpha concept based car, replacement if SX4 sedan and A-Wind concept model. With these upcoming models, the company seems to be planning to entice the Indian auto enthusiasts at Auto Expo 2014. Notably, the A-Wind concept car from Maruti Suzuki happens to be a hatchback, which was recently showcased at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2013. According to Ibtimes, this model will come as a replacement of the current generation A-Star in India. Sources close to the development process have revealed that it will come equipped with a 996 cc petrol engine and would feature an appealing design.

With its XA Alpha, the company is planning to foray in the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment in 2014. It must be noted that this model was first showcased at Auto Expo 2012 as a concept, and now, the company is anticipated to announce its launch in the corresponding auto fiesta of 2014. This SUV has been quite a buzz generator and as per the sources' claim, it will be incorporated with a 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet engine along with the option of a 1.2-litre K-series petrol mill.

The Indian auto major's top-notch premium hatchback, Maruti Suzuki Swift is also expected to glamorise the Auto Expo 2014. The car will be displayed in a whole new avatar, bearing a facelift and minor tweaks at interiors. Interestingly, the car will be equipped with the same engine capacity as its current generation version. Furthermore, long awaited sedan from Maruti Suzuki, codenamed YL1 will also be the highlight of this mega event. YL1 is expected to share the same platform of company's Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV), Ertiga and will replace the ongoing sedan SX4. Options of a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel is believed to be tapped under the hood of this car.
